A Shimmer Quilt Top + a 4th of July runner

    Jun 27, 2019

    Shimmer Quilt Pattern

Can you believe I posted about this Shimmer sew-a-long way back in January?!   Now it's the last month and we're done!

If you were sewing 4 blocks each month you should have 20 blocks to sew together into a throw size.

I sewed my blocks together yesterday and honestly?!  It reminds me of ketchup and mustard.

Way too much red, and way too much mustard.  At least it's very bright and summery, and I do like the colors!

Once it's finished I'm sure I'll like it more.

My "SUPER BORED" almost teenager and I decorated the house for 4th of July...and by decorate I mean I got out a table runner and a few cute star garlands from Target.  ;)

This is the 4th of July Stars runner pattern from the Modern Holiday pattern booklet.

Also there is no way this is going to stay clean.  My table was covered, COVERED in paint/glitter/marker/stickers/glue/paper/beads before I wiped it off today.  My dining room table is also the kids art table...and there is way more art than eating here during the summer!

It looks great! (No such thing as too much red.)

Too much ketchup and mustard? Maybe you've just created the perfect picnic quilt. Quilting and binding to magical transformations, don't they? Bet you end up loving it.

Thank! Yes I think you're right, I'll like it more when it's done...and at least any spills should blend right in! ;)

I'm a big fan of your ketchup and mustard quilt ;) and I understand far too well the joys of super bored teens except around here they are bored "big time" and we have arguments about who is more bored. yep. summer. I love it!

LOL! That sounds familiar...except mine argued this morning who has to do more chores. Spoiler alert kids...MOM does the most chores! ;)

This quilt is beautiful! The red and yellow don't pop out to me like they do to you. You can send it to me if you don't like it.

I'm glad! It's funny how we all see different colors more vibrantly isn't it?! I think I'll like it more once it's finished!

I LOVE the colors of the shimmer quilt! The red and yellow may remind you of mustard and ketchup, but it reminds me of hotdogs, hamburgers and picnics! Woot!
