It's the last day of May! My kids have school for 3 more weeks, so I'm trying to get ALL THE THINGS DONE before I'm outnumbered by kids for the summer.
I have a few projects to share that I didn't get a chance to blog about this month, including this crib sized Positive quilt.
For the background I used a dainty aqua floral from the line Wildwood by Rifle Paper Co.
The prints I used were leftover ombre confetti strips from my Trellis quilt, I pulled out some strips that matched this background perfectly.
This is such a quick quilt to put together, and even more fun with a print in the background.
If you are still sewing Shimmer blocks along with me in the slowest quilt-a-long in history...you should have 16 blocks after this month! In June we'll make the last 4 and sew all 20 blocks together!
I can't wait to lay all of my blocks out....although I'm a little scared...it might look horrible with all of my random fabrics! ;)
A couple of weeks ago I was at Quilt Market in Kansas City. The lighting was HORRIBLE for photos....so here is the only badly lit photo I took of my booth before I remembered to remove the trash can. ;)
I kept it super simple since we flew there, and I enjoyed seeing lots of familiar faces and SO much good BBQ during our visit.
We got home just in time to celebrate my Jane turning 3! I swear I just had her!
All her dreams came true with a Minnie Mouse 4 wheeler...and since then I've been following her around the neighborhood for 5 days straight hoping it will eventually run out of batteries.
Have a wonderful weekend!

What a picture of happiness from your cute “sunshine” girl! Happy birthday to Miss Jane. Your quilts are fantastic and can’t wait to see your Shimmer quilt. It will be beautiful!
Allison
THanks! She definitely is sunshine!!!
Ada
What a cute little girl, looking so happy. Nice quilt and the block looks great. The picture of your booth looks fine. It is so difficult to make nice pictures at exhibitions because of the lighting.
Allison
Thanks Ada!

The floral print background of the Positive quilt is super sweet! It does look like a fun make! I've fallen behind with my Shimmer blocks, just too much on my plate. Soooo...that quilt will either be smaller or may remain a WIP with a later finish date. Ugh! On a much happier note, three years old suits Miss Sunshine well, the excitement on her face is just adorable! Happy Summer!
Allison
I totally understand too much on your plate! Shimmer blocks can wait! Happy Summer to you!
Sheila
Love the new quilt! And Jane... love her spirit and sparkly smile. (makes me smile every time I see her!) I can see this next year being full of wonderful adventures... Jane style! Happy Birthday Jane!
Allison
Thank you Sheila!

Allison, I love this quilt. The ombre fabrics look incredible with the rifle paper. Perfect.
And Jane, Oh my. She is beautiful. Three years just fly!
Happy Summer days with the kiddos
Allison
Thank you!
Colleen
Happy Birthday Jane ! I could've sworn you just had her too. Love the quilt as well - you make it look so easy
Allison
Thanks Colleen! Time sure flies!

The crib quilt looks so wonderful and your booth, though poorly lit, looks like wonderfully inspirational. Happy Birthday to Jane -- she's a cutie!
Allison
Thanks Sue!

What quilting stitch were you using on your bernina
Allison
Hi Anne! I use the Bernina 4 stitch, with the width set to 5, and the length set to around 3. I play around with it before I start to find a perfect width/length.

I am so glad I found your site I have downloaded several of your free patterns on craftsy, now its blueprint and you have to pay to use the site, I make baby quilts for our layettes at my church to send overseas to Hadi and for mothers who decide not to abort there babies. I do not like to do the traditional quilts and your fit all of fabric I have acquired over the years, thanks again
