Both of these two need to stop growing!
I started making this quilt right after Halloween to be my "slow sewing" project through the season...but instead I ignored most my adult responsibilities and sewed it together within a week or two.
I stink at slow-relaxing sewing projects...I can't work on anything else until they are DONE.
The quilt pattern is Pixel Chain, and I cut 2 ½" strips to use from my red and green stash. I tried to use up all my random leftover bits of fabrics for this one!
The background is scrappy low volume prints instead of one solid. I threw a solid white in there too, which ended up being a little too "off white" for my liking, but it's not as noticeable sewn together.
My helper and I taped the blocks to the wall (with Diagonal Seam Tape LOL) because 4 kids + puppy + dirty floor + no design wall set up yet.
There are only 30 blocks for this size, which ends up being a good large throw or even a twin size. I'm going to keep this one folded at the foot of our bed.
The PDF version of Pixel Chain can be found here, Paper patterns can be found here.
I sent this one off to be quilted with the softest minky backing ever. I don't think it will be done before Christmas but I'm going to love pulling this one out next year!

Another winner!! Merry Christmas to you and your family. It will be here before we know it.🌲
Allison
Thanks Debbie, Merry Christmas to you also!

Really festive and pretty quilt top. Your two helpers look happy to help you.
Allison
They are more like anti-helpers...or whatever the opposite of helping is. ;)
Christi
Great quilt, love the colors.
Allison
Thank you! You can't go wrong with red and green this time of year.
Sheila
Such a festive looking quilt! And since I already own this pattern, I can just add it to the bucket list. Love the picture of Jane and the dog. Looks like they are best buddies... well at least in this picture.
Allison
They are buddies most of the time...she bosses him around and he knows not to mess with her or nip at her now!

Another winner. I just started the no point star quilt in red, white, and green. It should be ready for next Christmas.
Allison
Oh that sounds cute! You can't go wrong with that pattern for Christmas!
Regina Snyder
Great looking quilt. I already have a Christmas one, but I'm thinking this one would look good in reds, whites and blues for a Quilt of Valor or 4th of July. BTW I got your Diagonal Seam Tape this week and I'm loving using it to piece binding strips together.

I love this so much in Christmas prints - you can never have too many Christmas quilts. This will be on my ever growing "list" of Christmas quilts. Your helper is adorable!

Love your puppy Finn! We got our first Golden a year ago and she is the best dog ever. Good luck with puppyhood. It can be challenging but so worth it!!

Allison, you have such a fresh perspective and you mix colors so well. How do you do it?! I'm salivating over this quilt. Love, love, love your website. I've learned a lot from you. Thank you and Merry Christmas!

This is a really cute Christmas Quilt. Thanks for sharing.
Carol Tytler
Lovely Christmas quilt! Can you tell us more about the quilting threads...I see it blends well with the white and the green. What did you use?
Allison
Thanks Carol! When I'm quilting with Minky on the back I just match the thread to the top/quilt. The threads on the back usually get lost in the fluff of the minky over time and aren't visible....so I just focus on the front. I did white and white on the back too, it's hardly noticeable after it's quilted. If I would have done a dark green thread on the back, it sometimes is visible on the white front where the thread pulls through.

they look so cute!
