When I'm drawing out a new fabric line I usually have a rough idea of the quilts I want to make with it, but I KNEW I wanted to make a big flower quilt. After tinkering with designs for a month I went back to basics and landed on a giant Daisy block.
The main blocks in this quilt are 18 ½", and with large pieces and only 14 blocks, it goes together pretty quickly. Of course Diagonal Seam Tape will save you tons of time not having to mark all the diagonal corners.
The large pieces of these blocks show off the large prints in the Clover & Dot fabric line perfectly. Sometimes I feel bad chopping big beautiful prints into tiny pieces! I get asked a lot what white I use in the backgrounds of my quilts, it's always Moda Bella Solids 200 Off White...it's a perfect creamy white...not too cream and not too white.
These are the largest blocks I've ever made into a quilt, and it's so satisfying to make one giant block in a sitting....definitely more big block quilts are in my future!
Kate quilted this for me, I'm not sure the of the pattern but gives a perfect amount of texture and interest to this quilt.
The Daisy pattern can be found here as a PDF, and here as a Paper pattern.
Clover & Dot fabric will be out in stores in March 2024!
Have a great week! -Allison

You bring out the cutest patterns, Allison!! I have been collecting so much of your previous fabric line, every time I have seen it on sale - now I will enjoy making your new pattern with them.
Looking forward to your new fabric line in the new year :)!

Thank you!

When I saw the photo with the quilt under your Juki, I thought wowww she quilted it on her own machine.
Oh, never mind. Still it is a nice easy quilting design.
I love this quilt!!

I am not a fan of big blocks but I like this pattern. How could I make the blocks smaller?
