You know what 12 year old boys loooove to do? Hold up a quilt for their Mom in front of the High School after a visit to the Orthodontist at 8 am. ;)
He's a great quilt holder!
I came home from Quilt Market in May with the cutest bundle of Lola Dutch fabrics by Sarah Jane for Michael Miller fabrics. I wanted to use just the fat quarters for the quilt, so I decided on a One Way quilt in all prints.
I love her illustrations, and this collection is as cute as ever. It's well curated on it's own, but I added the green and pink polka dots.
I added in some scrappy blocks here and there to use up every bit of fabric I had and make this one a little bigger (I added one more block to each row, and one more row than the crib size in the pattern).
I quilted it with good ol' loopty loops (here is a tutorial for how I free motion quilt).
I made these loopty loops a little larger than normal since I had my 3 year old "helping" me. 3 year old's are super helpful in the sewing room!
I love the way this one turned out. Can you spot the few scrappy blocks I added and the scrap of blue binding I had to add? ;)
Fabric is Lola Dutch by Michael Miller fabrics. It just started shipping to stores, but I found it here, and here.

This quilt is beautiful!! Love all the pretty fabric pieces in there - and how they are showcased in this pattern.

Love your quilt. Perfect balance of colors. I will have to add this one to my never ending list of quilts to do!

That's super cute! I can't imagine even trying to sew with a three year old, so I'm impressed you got any quilting done at al! I just moved and we installed a dutch door on my sewing room so I can lock my twin almost-three-year-olds out and sew but still be available. Fingers crossed it helps. Right now, they just pull a chair over to the door to see better, haha.
Allison
Oh man...I can't even imagine twin almost 3 year olds! So much work at this age but so much fun too!
