    My Wish Christmas Quilt

    Dec 18, 2020

    Wish, Shooting Star Quilt Pattern

I was waiting for a sliver of sunshine so I could get some good photos of this quilt...but took one look at the forecast and decided a rainy shot in our forest will have to do!

It smells like Christmas trees in there when it rains.

I used my newest Wish pattern for the design, and most of the fabrics are from the Candlelight fabric line by Ruby Star Society plus some basics.  It's such a pretty line without being over the top Christmas-y or juvenile.  I added in the yellows for the stars, and the darker gold linen fabric.  The background is Bella Solids Off White.

This is a pretty straight forward pattern to make, but there are lots of diagonal seams.

I'm starting to sound like a broken record but...you need this tape when you make this quilt!!!!!

Can you spot my fabric layout mistake up there?  Arg!!  That's what I get for watching cheesy Christmas movies while I sew.  No quilt is complete without one good mistake though right?

I quilted this with my go-to quick loops.  It's hard to tell in the photos, but the darker linen fabric for the stars is metallic gold.  It's sparkly in person.

I didn't even notice Jane's little toy up on my sewing machine table until now.  I've been sewing at our dining/school/everything table and just shoved our messes to the side for a photo LOL.

This year with my entire family home 24/7 I've learned to accept allll the messes.  Until every other week or so I snap and we clean clean clean until Mom can breathe again!

I hope you enjoy this last bit of the season before Christmas.  Don't stress, and eat all the peppermint things!

Love this quilt - it is so pretty with all your fabric choices. I am knee deep in Christmas quilts, and can't seem to stop. Your new pattern is so lovely in either Christmas fabric or the original pastel shades. Love this!
Merry Christmas to you and your family! Stay safe - we are heading to lock down again after Christmas - so back to online schooling again till.....we shall see :)!

I think you should claim it was a planned goof. After all we should all be humble enough to know we aren't perfect. The quilt is beautiful.

Haha...luckily this year I think there are enough cheesy Christmas movies on netflix to last me at least a few hundred more quilts! I agree...being home all together has been a blessing in some ways, and a big patience builder for me!

Love this new quilt, Allison, especially the variety of fabrics in the stars. And you little mistake... ha!... so very easy to do. I can only imagine how easy it was to happen with everything else going on around your table/house.
Best wishes for a Merry Christmas to you and your whole family!

I just wanted you to know that one of my biggest 'joys' in 2020 was discovering your tape--
