    Spring Quilts

    Mar 28, 2024

Tulips Quilt Pattern, Jelly Roll or Layer Cake

I spent yesterday in the yard planting some new shrubs and it's finally feeling like Spring! I've made my share of springy quilts and today I'm rounding up some of my favorites. Top of the list has to be Tulips (above) Nothing says spring like a tulip quilt!

    Primrose Quilt Pattern

I made this Primrose quilt last year, which is made in my Forget-Me-Not fabric line & matches my collection of blue mason jars. I wouldn't say Terrace is a spring quilt...but the name is kind of garden-y so we'll count it since it's in the photo.

I'm not allowed near a Tractor Supply store because I can't leave without buying new chicks. We are planning a new coop this year so I'm banned from chicken buying until it's finished. So fabric Chickens will have to do.

This time of year I find myself reaching for fabrics with soft colors, pinks, blues, greens, and putting them into a simple quilt pattern. It's the best way to make a timeless quilt that still has a spring feel.

    Picnic Quilt pattern

Picnic has a soft spring look, but change out the fabric (take out the pink!) and it has such a different look. I've never seen this one made up in a fabric combo that didn't look amazing.

Daisy is my newest floral quilt I made for my Clover & Dot fabric line (which is coming out to stores NOW!). These giant 19" flowers are SO fun to make and since you only have to make 14 of them it goes together quick!

A little smaller and laid out on-point, the Bloom quilt also has a spring look but maybe a bit more modern? Fabrics change the look of this one so much.

Last but not least...it wouldn't feel like spring without baseball (go Mariners!), so a baseball quilt had to be included in this post. Pretty sure I ate my weight in concession stand pretzels at ball parks last year. We love baseball so the Batter Up quilt is one of our favorites. I recently saw someone skip the 16 patch blocks and use squares cut from their kids uniforms...how fun!

Can't leave out the tennis and softball fans....

Tennis Quilt, Batter Up Pattern, Fat Quarter friendly and easy to make!

I have a fun little feature in the newest issue of Love and Quilting Magazine...it inspired this post. I have a thing for flower quilts!

Hoping we all have some sunshine and spring weather soon...it's cold and pouring here today so at least it's less yardwork and more sewing time right?

    Have a great day! -Allison

I'm making the Daisy quilt and I've never felt such joy. It is fun, easy and impactful. And I'm using a Kaffee Fassett bundle the colors are blooming off my design wall. Thanks so much.

I love this retro style, especially the little motifs and floral patterns. merge fruit also has many classic games that you can try.
