Meet my new favorite quilt that is living on my couch all summer...Twinkle!
This one has been on my to-make list for a few years. It uses the star in my No Point Star tutorial in different sizing, and laid out so the stars look randomly placed. I used some of my favorite reds and blues for it, and threw in some yellow and greens so it wouldn't look too 4th of July.
I always think busy quilts without a lot of negative background space look best with a lot of small prints and near solids, so I used mostly basics with a couple medium florals mixed in.
You know I love a good star block but not gonna lie....this was about my limit for star making. Diagonal Seam Tape will save you HOURS when making this quilt, or any quilt with a lot of stitch and flip corners!
I backed this with this super cute polka dot print from Clover & Dot (I noticed this dot is already selling out in shops), and bound it with a teal solid. Kait quilted it in a swirly bubble pattern.
When writing the pattern for this quilt, I knew I wanted all of the blocks to look random, but getting the sizing right for a Twin/Queen/King is so hard with the large blocks. I ended up making a custom layout for each size, so they all have a random look but will still fit on the bed.
The pattern includes sizes for Baby, Throw, Twin, Queen, and King. It uses fat quarters, or you can use yardage. The more fabrics the better with this one...and when in doubt add some solids!
The Twinkle pattern can be found here as a PDF, or here as a Paper pattern.

Holy Cow that's a lot of very different fabrics and somehow looks so cohesive! Such a cute pattern.
