    Uptown

    Uptown Quilt Pattern

In all my 9 years of blogging I've made lots-o-quilts...and used the color purple in maybe 4 of them?  I have no idea why.  Then lately I've been on a purple binge and I want every thing to be puuuurple and my husband is like "NO MORE PURPLE"!!!    Moral of the story...you'll see more purple here from now on!

This is my next new pattern, Uptown.

I selected my 2 ½" pre-cut strips from these lovely Simply Colorful jelly rolls.  The pattern uses 25 strips to make a throw...so it's a good jelly roll option.  The background color is Moda Bella Solid in silver.

Kathy quilted this one as well.  I told her to quilt "whatever" as I usually do...and she went above and beyond with these tiny rows of loops!

I made a mockup of this quilt for Windham Fabrics in a new fabric line called Atlas.  I love the taupe and blues together!  Originally this pattern was called Mile Marker...so if you are a shop buyer looking for this pattern this is it!  I'm just keeping you on your toes.  ;)

The quilt takes on a different look with each set of strips. Wonderful. Taupes and blues do go well together but so do the colorful strips. Awesome job.

Love it, love it, love it. I'm not a purple fan but some of those fabrics are leaning towards magenta to me. Thanks for the inspiration. You are doing amazingly with 4 young children.

I'm with you on the purple - I have to purchase a piece if I need it in a quilt - NONE in my stash. But, I'm starting to like it. I LOVE this quilt! That raspberry binding - perfect. And that setting - how do you suspend a quilt in the air for a photo shoot??? You're amazing!

My husband is holding it! I sew on little temporary corners on the back so he can slip his hands through and it looks like no one is holding it! Now you know all my secrets. ;)

Really like your first photo--but I've got to go with your husband. Purple isn't my fave either, so I'll look forward to being convinced otherwise with your quilts to come :) Totally loving the Atlas colors.
